25th ORIENTATION DAYS FOR THE SPRING SEMESTER COMMENCING IN EMU

Organized by the Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU) Social and Cultural Activities Directorate at the beginning of each academic semester, with the aim of supporting the integration, welcoming and placement process of the newly registered students, Eastern Mediterranean University's 25th Spring Semester Orientation Days are about to commence. Various activities will also be held within the scope of EMU 25th Spring Orientation Days, which will be held between 20 and 25 February 2023 according to the academic calendar revised due to the earthquake affecting Turkey and our region.

Within the scope of the EMU Spring Semester Orientation Days program, to be held under the communication sponsorship of North Cyprus Turkcell and Telsim Freezone, new students will be provided with the opportunity to settle in the dormitories at EMU follwing their arrival in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) between 20 and 25 February 2023. The first stage of the English Proficiency Exam will be held on Monday, 20 February, 2023, and the second stage will be held on Tuesday, 21 February, 2023. Ring bus services will be organized from the dormitories area to the EMU Foreign Languages and English Preparatory School to ease the transportation of students to the exam venue.

Security in the TRNC Seminar to be Held

Spring Semester Orientation Days will feature a seminar on Thursday, 30 September, 2022 at 14:00 at Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall, where the topic of “Security in the TRNC" will be covered by the Police General Directorate and EMU Security Affairs Unit. Following this seminar, EMU Psychological Counseling, Guidance and Research Center (EMU PDRAM) will also hold a seminar titled “Adapting to University Life: Turning Challenges into Opportunities" at 15:00. EMU Health Center will also provide information to students during the said seminar.

On the other hand, on Thursday, 23 February, 2023, between 16.00-17.00 a seminar will be held at Mustafa Afşin Ersoy Hall by EMU Center for Women's Studies, Sexual Harassment and Assault Support Unit.

Campus and Famagusta Tours will be organized

For newly arriving students, a campus tour will be held on Friday, 24 February, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.. In this tour, during which students will visit the south and north campuses, students will also have the opportunity to visit the faculties where they will study, EMU Özay Oral Library, Lala Mustafa Paşa Sports Center, Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center and EMU Beach Club. A tour of Famagusta will be organized for students at 14:00 on the same day. Students will visit Famagusta Walled City and Varosha regions on this tour.

EMU's 25th Spring Semester Orientation Days aim to prepare new students in the best possible way for the start of the 2022-2023 Academic Year Spring Semester, which will take place on 1 March 2023.
